OWNING AND OPERATING A SMALL JEWELRY BUSINESS

OWNING & OPERATING A SMALL JEWELRY BUSINESS is quite an adventure!  and I'm always ready for an adventure.

I have always loved jewelry.  Ever since I can remember I have loved and admired jewelry.  Specially jewelry with gemstones. It has always fascinated me that these beautiful, colorful gemstones were once part of the earth.  Buried in a mountain, or by a river bed somewhere.

I started making my own jewelry simply because I couldn't afford to buy it.  And knowing that I could make it, empowered me a bit.

After many years of designing, making, and selling jewelry; I finally have this business (almost) under control.  I have a routine and have perfected methods to become more efficient with my limited time.  I am basically a one-man show.  I purchase all the gemstones, findings, tools, etc. I design and construct the jewelry.  I built my website.  I manage my website.  I take the photographs of the new designs, and enter it in my website.  I market and advertise my jewelry.  I am my packing and shipping department.  I also design and order all my marketing tools like business cards, postcards, mailings, brochures, banners, etc.

As you can imagine it takes a lot of time to keep each and every aspect of my business running smoothly.

Many nights you will find me taking photos of the new jewelry in my small photo studio.  Many nights I finish after midnight.

It is endless, and very hard work.

But it is also very rewarding. I love to design and create beautiful jewelry with beautiful GEMSTONES, PEARLS, and PRECIOUS METALS.
