Fixing jewelry is sometimes a challenge, and it can also be very rewarding.
Friends and costumers that want to know if I can fix their custom jewelry they purchased or inherited a long time ago, I always ask them:
- Do you love it?
- Do you want to make the investment?
- Will you wear it?
If you answer yes, then I am always ready for a challenge!
A friend came to me recently and asked if I could fix these broken pieces of jewelry. They are not worth a lot of money, but they are very nice quality custom pieces. I said yes! Here is a before and an after photos of her jewelry.
BEFORE ABOVE: A broken strand of pearls that used to be a bracelet. Knowing that my friend has small wrists, I resized the bracelet. Hand knotted it in silk thread, and added a Sterling Silver Clasp. With the leftover 4 pearls I made her a beautiful pair of earrings on Sterling Silver Lever Backs.
A pair of pearl earrings, one of them lost the post. I added a new Sterling Silver Post.
And a choker style 5-strand necklace. It was very tired looking. A couple of strands were broken. And the clasp was imitation copper. I re-strung all 5 strands, and made it adjustable. I used a Sterling Silver multi strand end, and an adjustable Sterling Silver Chain Extender.
Look at the difference below!
So the answer is YES. I will definitely work with you.
Custom jewelry is well known for brass, and regular metals. I will always add to the value of your jewelry with precious metals.
Go through your jewelry and let's work together fixing those broken pieces!
